Best Love Loyalty Alternatives (2026): 7 Apps Compared

Love Loyalty went live on the Shopify App Store on 24 October 2024. Two years later it holds 5.0 stars from 412 reviews and puts paid memberships, VIP tiers, B2B loyalty and wallet passes on a single $79 plan. That is aggressive pricing for that feature set. Merchants who go looking for apps like Love Loyalty are usually chasing something at the edges of loyalty, like native product reviews or deeper retention reporting. Seven apps are worth a look, and none of them wins on every count. This guide says where each one loses.

Key highlights: the best Love Loyalty alternatives

  • Rivo is the closest Love Loyalty replacement. It is the only alternative here with both native paid memberships and wallet passes, and VIP tiers start at $49 a month.
  • Growave is the only option that also retires a reviews app and a wishlist app, starting at $15 a month, with native Apple and Google Wallet passes from $199.
  • Joy matches Love Loyalty almost feature for feature but gates memberships, wallet passes, B2B tiers and its POS extension at $129 a month, against $79 on Love Loyalty’s Growth plan.

What Love Loyalty Rewards does well

The App Store listing, checked 27 October 2026, puts more into the middle tier than most apps in this category do.

  • Points redemption inside the cart in two steps, with no popup, which merchants single out repeatedly in reviews
  • 15+ storefront touchpoints, including points on the product page
  • Shopify POS support for in-store purchases from the $12 Professional plan
  • Paid memberships with a 1.8% transaction fee, VIP tiers, B2B loyalty by customer segment, bonus campaigns and Apple and Google Wallet passes, all on Growth at $79
  • Checkout extensions and API access on Plus at $399, with no Shopify Plus requirement
  • Built for Shopify badge, built on metafields and app extensions with no iframes
  • Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, Judge.me and 30+ integrations

Why merchants consider Love Loyalty alternatives

The review record here is unusually clean. Of 412 ratings, 99% are five stars, and not one is a one-star. There is no complaint pattern to report, so the honest reasons to look at Love Loyalty competitors are about product shape and company age.

1. You want reviews, UGC or wishlists in the same app

Love Loyalty is a loyalty app and nothing else. It connects to Judge.me and Loox for reviews. If you are paying separately for reviews and a wishlist, a suite app collapses three bills into one.

2. You need segmentation and retention reporting, not program reporting

Love Loyalty’s analytics start on Professional and tell you how the program is doing. LoyaltyLion ships RFM data, customer lifetime value and customer activity reporting on every tier, plus custom on-site and off-site earning activities you define yourself.

3. Your store sells in several languages

The Love Loyalty App Store listing is published in English only. BON Loyalty auto-translates ten languages and lets you hand-enter the rest, available from its $29 Basic plan.

4. You want a longer track record

Smile.io has been listed since December 2014 and carries 4,647 reviews. Growave and LoyaltyLion both date to July 2014. Love Loyalty is barely two years old, publishes no public changelog, and one merchant in a June 2026 review said they got too little warning about app changes.

How we picked these seven alternatives

Feature counts are useless here, because Love Loyalty already has most of the features. Five questions separate the alternatives.

  • Parity at price: Which plan actually unlocks memberships, tiers and wallet passes, and what does that plan cost?
  • Ecosystem: How many integrations, how long on the App Store, is there a published changelog?
  • Analytics: Does the app report on repeat purchase behaviour and lifetime value, or only on points issued?
  • Surface coverage: Where do points appear on the storefront, and which plan unlocks POS and checkout?
  • Maturity: Review volume, launch date and support record.

No app below beats Love Loyalty on all five.

Read down the memberships and wallet columns and the field thins out fast. Only Rivo and Joy replace Love Loyalty without dropping a feature. Everything else asks you to give something up in exchange for what it does better. The pricing maths across store sizes is in our Shopify loyalty app pricing comparison, and the wider field is ranked in the best Shopify loyalty apps guide.

Rivo: closest Shopify-native alternative

What it does: Rivo has been on the App Store since January 2021 and holds 4.7 stars from 1,441 reviews. The free plan covers 200 orders. Essential at $15 adds Shopify POS and the product-page theme extension. Scale at $49 brings VIP tiers, points expiry and bonus campaigns, with overage at $20 per extra 100 orders capped at $499. Plus at $499 adds checkout extensions and the developer toolkit. Memberships run on Shopify Payments and do not need Shopify Plus. The Spring 2026 release added cashback, punch cards and a merchant MCP server.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: B2B loyalty by customer segment, which Rivo does not publish. Support consistency is the other gap. Slow responses and settings that fail to save are the repeated theme across Rivo’s 27 one-star reviews, which is worth weighing given that support is what Love Loyalty reviewers praise most.

Best for: Stores that want memberships and wallet passes kept intact, plus a deeper developer surface and five years of shipping history.

One note on pricing. Rivo’s own pricing page no longer shows the Free or Essential plans and quotes a seven-day trial, while the App Store listing still shows both plans and a 14-day trial. The figures above follow the App Store.

Smile.io: best for simplicity and familiarity

What it does: Smile is the default in this category and has the numbers to show for it, with 4.9 stars from 4,647 reviews since December 2014. Shopify POS works on the free plan at 200 orders. Paid tiers run Essential $15, Standard $79, Growth $199 and Plus at $999 billed annually. Klaviyo Customer Hub support is included from Essential, and the report library scales from 10 prebuilt reports on free to 30+ on Plus. SOC-2 compliance and a front-end JavaScript SDK arrive on Plus.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: Price for the same capability. VIP tiers cost $199 on Smile against $79 on Love Loyalty. Smile has no paid memberships at all, and wallet passes are only available through the third-party Novel integration. Checkout redemption also waits until Growth at $199.

Best for: Merchants who want the best-documented points program on Shopify and have no need for memberships or wallet passes. If you are weighing Smile from the other direction, our Smile.io alternatives guide covers that switch.

Joy: best for wallets, gamification and social earning

What it does: Joy holds 4.9 stars from 1,788 reviews since June 2021. Starter is free to 250 orders, then Essential $29, Advanced $129 and Ultimate $499, with the overage rate falling from $15 to $5 per 100 orders as you climb. Advanced is the interesting tier. It carries paid memberships, wallet passes, B2B tiers, the POS extension, cart-drawer redemption, milestone rewards, a rule engine and social earning actions on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: The price of that bundle.

FeatureLove LoyaltyJoy
Paid membershipsGrowth, $79Advanced, $129
Wallet passesGrowth, $79Advanced, $129
B2B tiersGrowth, $79Advanced, $129
Shopify POSProfessional, $12Advanced, $129

Best for: Stores that want social earning actions and a rule engine badly enough to pay $50 a month more for the same core features.

BON Loyalty: best for budget and international stores

What it does: BON has 5.0 stars from 1,965 reviews since August 2021, the largest review count of any five-star app in this comparison. Free covers 150 orders. Starter is $15 for 300 orders, Basic $29 for 500 or $27 a month annually, and Growth $129 for unlimited orders or $103 a month annually. POS support starts at $29. Ten languages translate automatically, with manual entry for anything else. BON launched its B2B tier program on 4 November 2025 and added daily check-in and anniversary points in June 2026.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: BON publishes no paid memberships and no wallet passes on any plan. VIP tiers cost $129 against $79. Two add-ons bill on top, at $50 a month for collection-specific points and $10 a month for tag exclusion.

Best for: Multi-language stores that want unlimited orders for $103 a month and do not run memberships. Smaller stores should also check the best free Shopify loyalty apps roundup, since BON’s free tier is one of the better ones.

Growave: best for loyalty plus reviews and wishlists

What it does: Growave has 4.8 stars from 1,289 reviews and has been listed since July 2014. Entry is $15 for 500 orders, Growth $199 for 1,500, Plus $499 for 3,000 and Unlimited $999. One subscription covers loyalty, photo reviews with Q&A and rich snippets, wishlists with back-in-stock and on-sale emails, plus a gift registry. Apple and Google Wallet passes are native from the Growth plan, and the pass carries a Loyalty QR code for POS lookups.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: Paid memberships, which Growave does not publish and which merchants reach through an Appstle integration. VIP tiers and points expiry both wait until $199. Overage on Entry runs $20 per 100 orders, which is the steepest rate in this comparison.

Best for: Stores currently paying for a separate reviews app and a wishlist app. Add those two bills to a loyalty bill and Growth at $199 often comes out ahead.

LoyaltyLion: best for analytics and segmentation

What it does: LoyaltyLion holds 4.7 stars from 543 reviews since July 2014, the lowest rating and smallest review count here, which reflects a heavier product aimed at larger stores. The free plan covers 400 orders. Classic is quoted from $199, with Advanced and Plus above it. Every tier includes RFM data, customer lifetime value, retention and referral analytics and sales channel exports. You can build custom on-site, off-site and receipt-upload earning activities. Translation across 130+ languages arrives on Advanced.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: Checkout redemption is restricted to Shopify Plus stores on every LoyaltyLion tier, while Love Loyalty ships checkout extensions on its $399 Plus plan to any store. POS is single-location on Classic. VIP tiers are a paid add-on at that tier. There are no paid memberships, and wallet passes come through Novel.

Best for: Stores past 2,000 orders a month with an analyst or agency who will act on the retention data.

Yotpo Loyalty: best inside a wider retention stack

What it does: Yotpo Loyalty has 4.7 stars from 969 reviews since July 2015. The free plan covers under 100 monthly orders. Pro is $199, after which billing shifts to roughly $0.08 to $0.20 per order above 500. You get points, referrals and 20+ campaign types, sharing a customer record with Yotpo Reviews, SMS and email, with VIP tiers arriving on Premium at a custom quote.

Where Love Loyalty still wins: Cost at small and mid volume. Yotpo’s entry paid tier is $199 against Love Loyalty’s $12, and the gap only closes if you are consolidating several Yotpo products. No paid memberships and no native wallet passes.

Best for: Brands already running Yotpo Reviews or Yotpo SMS who want one vendor, one invoice and one customer data layer.

How to migrate from Love Loyalty

Three groups, and the third one catches people out.

Point balances, customer email identifiers and current VIP tier assignments move by CSV export and import. Smile publishes a switch-to guide, Rivo publishes an import article, and Love Loyalty runs a help-centre category for importing points from other apps, which tells you the format it exports in.

Earning rules, point values, redemption options, storefront placements, widget styling, email templates, referral link structure, wallet pass design and Shopify Flow triggers all have to be rebuilt by hand. Budget a day for this, more if you run several placements.

Nothing carries over for active paid-membership billing, B2B company-level balances or POS transaction history. Members have to re-subscribe on the new app, which is the single biggest reason to stay put if memberships are live. Referral links your customers have already shared will break.

Sequence it like this. Export balances before you cancel. Keep both apps installed for 48 hours with earning switched off on the old one so nobody earns twice. Check ten sample accounts against the export before you pull the old widget.

Who should stay with Love Loyalty

Six situations where switching costs more than it returns.

  • You run paid memberships. The nearest equivalent is Joy at $129, and migrating means asking every member to re-subscribe.
  • You use Shopify POS. At $12, this is the cheapest POS entry point of any app here apart from Smile’s free plan.
  • You run a B2B program that needs company or location-level point balances. Only BON also publishes this, and its version arrived in November 2025.
  • You issue Apple and Google Wallet passes and pay under $199 a month. Growave is the only native alternative and it starts at $199.
  • Your customers redeem in the cart. Two-step cart redemption without a popup is the feature reviewers name most often.
  • You would otherwise be running a loyalty app, a memberships app and a wallet app side by side.

Final verdict

Below roughly 2,000 orders a month with memberships running, nothing here undercuts Love Loyalty’s $79 Growth plan on features per dollar, and the honest case for moving is about what sits around loyalty rather than loyalty itself. Above that volume, or if you need retention analytics or a reviews product, the calculation changes.

  • Rivo for the closest Shopify-native replacement with memberships intact
  • Smile.io for simplicity and the longest track record
  • Joy for social earning actions and a rule engine
  • BON Loyalty for multi-language stores on a budget
  • Growave for retiring a reviews app and a wishlist app at the same time
  • LoyaltyLion for retention analytics and segmentation
  • Yotpo for brands already inside the Yotpo stack
  • Stay with Love Loyalty for memberships, POS, wallet passes, B2B and cart redemption

Stores under 500 orders a month have a shorter shortlist, covered in our loyalty apps for small Shopify stores guide.

FAQs

What is the best Love Loyalty alternative?

Rivo, for most stores. It is the only app that matches Love Loyalty on both paid memberships and wallet passes, and it has been on the App Store since January 2021 with 1,441 reviews. Its weak point is support response time.

Which alternative supports paid memberships?

Rivo on Plus at $499 and above, and Joy on Advanced at $129 a month. Smile.io, LoyaltyLion, BON Loyalty and Yotpo Loyalty publish no paid membership feature. Growave merchants reach memberships through an Appstle integration. Our VIP tier app guide ranks the plans that gate them.

Which Love Loyalty alternative supports POS?

Six of the seven. Smile.io includes Shopify POS on its free plan, Rivo from $15, Growave from $15, BON Loyalty from $29 and Joy from $129. LoyaltyLion supports a single POS location on Classic and multiple locations on Advanced.

Can Love Loyalty data be migrated?

Point balances, customer identifiers and VIP tier assignments export to CSV and import into most alternatives. Active membership billing, B2B company-level balances and POS history do not transfer. Earning rules and storefront placements have to be rebuilt.

Is Love Loyalty better than Smile.io?

They win different things. Love Loyalty gives you VIP tiers at $79 against Smile’s $199, plus memberships and wallet passes that Smile does not have. Smile has 4,647 reviews across twelve years, a larger integration library and free Shopify POS. Our Smile.io vs Love Loyalty comparison runs the two side by side.

Which alternative has the best analytics?

LoyaltyLion. RFM data, customer lifetime value and customer activity reporting are on every tier, including the free plan, and repeat purchase and drop-off rates arrive on Plus. Pricing is quoted and starts around $199 a month.

Which alternative combines loyalty with reviews?

Growave, which bundles photo reviews, Q&A, wishlists and a gift registry with its loyalty program from $15 a month. Yotpo Loyalty also pairs with Yotpo Reviews, though as two products on one platform with separate billing.
