7 Best Gamified Loyalty Apps for Shopify (2026)
Points balance gives customers one reason to come back, and it only shows up when they’re ready to buy again. Gamified loyalty apps for Shopify add smaller reasons in between, like a streak to keep alive, a wheel to spin or a mission to finish. Plenty of stores launch a plain points program, then watch members forget their balance until the next checkout.
Gameball has the most game mechanics in this list, with spins and streak campaigns from $34 a month. Joy is the cheapest way into progress mechanics, because its visit-streak challenge runs on every plan. Love Loyalty suits growing stores that want VIP tiers and bonus campaigns in one app on its $79 Growth plan.
We ranked the 7 best gamification loyalty apps for Shopify by which plan includes each game mechanic and what that plan costs at your monthly order volume.
Top picks
- Best for game-first loyalty programs: Gameball.
- Best for streaks and milestones on a mid-size budget: Joy.
- Best for growing stores that want tiers and bonus campaigns in one app: Love Loyalty.
- Best for purchase-streak rewards at a flat price: BON Loyalty.
- Best for missions and UGC rewards: Loyoly.

How we ranked these gamified loyalty apps
A game feature only counts if a store can switch it on at a price that fits its volume. So we started from each app’s pricing page or listing, found the plan where every game mechanic first appears, and priced that plan at realistic order counts. Apps with more mechanics on cheaper plans ranked higher.
- Mechanic depth: how many distinct game mechanics the app names, split into luck mechanics and progress mechanics.
- The plan that includes it: the cheapest plan where each mechanic appears, from the vendor’s pricing page or listing.
- Cost at your volume: what that plan costs once overage is added, using each app’s own billing metric (see our Shopify loyalty app pricing comparison for the full numbers).
- In-store reach: whether the program works at Shopify POS, so store visits count toward streaks and tiers.
Several apps in our broader list of the best Shopify loyalty apps call their programs gamified but name no game mechanic, so they sit under Also considered.
Luck vs progress mechanics in gamified loyalty programs
Game mechanics in loyalty apps come in two kinds. Luck mechanics pay out by chance, through spins and contest draws. Progress mechanics pay out when a customer hits a target, whether that’s a streak, a milestone or the next VIP tier.
The two kinds cost you money at different moments. A purchase streak like BON’s Order Booster pays bonus points only after the orders arrive, so the reward follows revenue. A spin pays out on a visit. That means it needs a limit on spins per customer and a prize budget you’ve set in advance.
Merchants disagree about games in general. In a Shopify Community thread that ran from September 2025 to June 2026, one merchant asked whether quests and badges work better than spins. Others warned that games annoy some shoppers or pull them away from checkout, and nobody in the thread posted numbers.
The Magicbean study offers a useful check. Across 2,961 written loyalty-app reviews, merchants mentioned rewards features such as points, VIP tiers and referrals in 27.2%, behind support at 70.6%. A game mechanic is rarely the thing merchants write home about, so treat it as a way to lift engagement, not as the reason customers stay.
Spin-to-win pop-ups are a separate tool. They trade one discount for an email address and keep no points or purchase history, so none of them made this list.
Game mechanics by plan
This table shows the cheapest plan for each game mechanic and the volume that plan includes.
| Mechanic | App | Plan | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spin the wheel, slot machine, streak campaigns | Gameball | Starter | $34 (300 rewarded customers) |
| Unlimited challenges and leaderboard | Gameball | Guru | $999 (10,000 rewarded customers) |
| Visit streak challenge | Joy | Every plan | $0 on Starter (250 orders) |
| Milestone and social rewards | Joy | Advanced | $129 (2,000 orders) |
| VIP tiers, bonus campaigns, wallet passes | Love Loyalty | Growth | $79 (2,000 orders) |
| Order Booster purchase streaks | BON Loyalty | Growth | $129 (unlimited orders) |
| Contest module | Kangaroo | Ultimate (only plan) | $199 (1,000 orders) |
| Community hub, wallet passes | Toki | Pay as You Go | $49 (1,000 orders) |
| Missions | Loyoly | Free | $0 |
| UGC and review missions | Loyoly | Premium | $449 |
Which gamified loyalty app fits your store?
A store under 500 orders testing whether games work should start with Joy on Essential at $29 a month. The streak challenge runs on every plan, so you can see whether customers come back for it before paying for milestones and VIP tiers on Advanced at $129.
A growing store between 500 and 2,000 orders that wants one app fits Love Loyalty on Growth at $79 a month, which covers VIP tiers, bonus campaigns, paid memberships and wallet passes. It has no spins or streaks. If you want milestone rewards on top, Joy’s Advanced plan at $129 is the runner-up.
A brand that wants real games should take Gameball on Starter at $34 a month, which covers spins, slot machines and streaks for up to 300 rewarded customers. Pro at $159 lifts that to 1,000 and adds free-product rewards. The leaderboard waits for Guru at $999.
A high-volume store that wants to reward repeat orders fits BON Loyalty on Growth at $129 a month, which includes Order Booster with no order cap. API access needs the custom-priced Plus plan.
A retailer with physical stores that runs contests should look at Kangaroo. Its single plan costs $199 a month for 1,000 orders, then $0.20 per order, and it works with Shopify POS and Lightspeed.
A beauty or fashion brand that wants content from customers fits Loyoly on Premium at $449 a month, which pays points for UGC and reviews through missions.
The 7 best gamified loyalty apps for Shopify in 2026
Here are top shopify gamification apps which you can use on your store in 2026
1. Gameball
Best for: Game-first loyalty programs
Rating: 4.7 (150 reviews) | Price: $34–$999/mo | Free trial: 7 days
Gameball is a loyalty app built around a campaign engine. Points and VIP tiers sit underneath campaigns for spins and streaks. Gameball bills on monthly rewarded customers, meaning anyone who earned or redeemed something in the last 30 days, so cost follows engagement instead of order count.
What you get
- Spin the wheel and slot machine: spin-the-wheel campaigns start on Starter, and the listing adds a slot machine on that plan.
- Streak campaigns: daily-progress streaks reward customers for coming back on consecutive days, from $34 a month.
- Challenges and leaderboards: the listing names challenges and badges, and unlimited challenges plus the leaderboard sit on Guru.
- Timed and multiplier campaigns: custom time-based and point-multiplier campaigns run on Starter, with up to 10 active at once.
- VIP tiers: Starter allows 5 tiers, and Pro removes the cap and adds tier-based earning.
- Shopify POS: POS activation is listed on every plan, including the free one.
Where it shines
- Widest set of game mechanics of the seven apps here.
- Spins and streaks start at $34, the cheapest luck mechanics in this list.
- Customers who never earn or redeem in a month don’t count toward your bill.
Trade-offs
- Free-product and free-shipping rewards start on Pro at $159 a month.
- Unlimited challenges and the leaderboard need Guru at $999 a month.
- API access costs an extra $199 a month on Pro.
- Gameball doesn’t publish overage rates past each plan’s rewarded-customer limit.
Plans and prices: Free (100 rewarded customers), Starter $34 (300), Pro $159 (1,000) and Guru $999 (10,000) a month, per Gameball’s Shopify pricing page.
Our take: Gameball ranks first because it is the only app here that runs spins and streaks in one program. Its review base in the Magicbean study is small, 16 reviews over two years, and 10 of the 14 written ones mention support. Merchants comparing it with similar tools can read our Gameball alternatives guide.
2. Joy
Best for: Streaks and milestones on a mid-size budget
Rating: 4.9 (1,790 reviews) | Price: $29–$499/mo | Free trial: 14 days
Joy is a points and rewards app with a long list of earning programs. Two of them are game mechanics. A streak challenge rewards back-to-back store visits, and milestone rewards pay out when a customer reaches a set target. Both sit on plans most stores already pay for.
What you get
- Streak bonus challenge: customers earn points for each visit on consecutive days and a bonus on the final day, on all plans.
- Milestone rewards: Advanced adds milestones, including subscription milestones for brands that sell on repeat orders.
- Social rewards: Advanced pays points for activity on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- VIP and B2B tiers: both tier systems start on Advanced, alongside paid memberships.
- Wallet passes and POS: Apple and Google Wallet passes and the POS extension also start on Advanced.
Where it shines
- The visit streak works on every plan, including the free one.
- Advanced puts milestones, tiers, wallet passes and POS on one $129 plan.
- Overage drops as you move up, down to $5 per 100 orders.
Trade-offs
- Milestones, VIP tiers and POS all start on Advanced at $129 a month.
- Checkout extensions need Ultimate at $499 and a Shopify Plus store.
- Joy has no spin wheel or other luck-based game.
Plans and prices: Starter free (250 orders), Essential $29 (500 orders, +$15 per 100), Advanced $129 (2,000 orders, +$10 per 100) and Ultimate $499 (7,000 orders, +$5 per 100) a month.
Our take: Joy is the cheapest route to progress mechanics, and Advanced stays the better buy until about 5,700 orders a month, where Ultimate costs the same. In the Magicbean study, 79.9% of Joy’s 184 written reviews mention support. Our Joy Loyalty review covers the plans in depth.
3. Love Loyalty
Best for: Growing stores that want tiers and bonus campaigns in one app
Rating: 5.0 (394 reviews) | Price: $12–$399/mo | Free trial: 14 days
Love Loyalty is an all-in-one loyalty app for growing stores and Shopify Plus brands, with the Built for Shopify badge as of 24 October 2026. Its game layer is progression. Customers climb VIP tiers while bonus campaigns add short bursts of extra points. Paid memberships and wallet passes sit on the same Growth plan.
What you get
- VIP tiers: tiers start on Growth at $79 a month, and tier benefits also apply at Shopify POS.
- Bonus campaigns: Growth adds bonus campaigns for launches, holidays or quiet weeks.
- Paid memberships: monthly or yearly memberships run on Growth with a 1.8% transaction fee, which falls to 0.8% on Plus.
- Apple and Google Wallet passes: Growth adds scannable wallet passes customers can use in-store.
- Points on 15+ touchpoints: points show on product pages and other storefront placements from Professional at $12.
- Cart redemption: customers redeem rewards in the cart in two steps, without opening a pop-up widget.
- B2B programs: Growth can run separate programs for B2B customer segments.
Where it shines
- Tiers, bonus campaigns, memberships and wallet passes share one $79 plan.
- Program data is stored in Shopify metafields, so the experience runs natively inside Shopify.
- POS earning and redemption start on Professional at $12 a month.
Trade-offs
- Love Loyalty has no spin wheel, streak challenge or leaderboard.
- Growth includes 2,000 orders, then charges $15 per extra 100 orders.
- Checkout extensions and API access need Plus at $399 a month.
Plans and prices: Professional $12 (500 orders), Growth $79 (2,000 orders, +$15 per 100) and Plus $399 (unlimited orders) a month.
Our take: Love Loyalty ranks third because its game features are progression features, and they arrive together on one $79 plan. Past about 4,200 orders a month, Plus at $399 costs less than Growth with overage. Love Loyalty had zero one- and two-star reviews in the Magicbean study’s two-year window, and our Love Loyalty review covers its limits in more detail.
4. BON Loyalty
Best for: Purchase-streak rewards at a flat price
Rating: 5.0 (1,971 reviews) | Price: $15–$129/mo, Plus custom | Free trial: 7 days
BON Loyalty is a points and VIP app with the largest review count in this list. Its game mechanic is Order Booster, which pays bonus points when a customer completes a set number of orders inside a campaign window. A progress tracker on the storefront shows how close they are.
What you get
- Order Booster streaks: you set streaks by order count, each worth more points than the last, with a start and end date, per BON’s documentation.
- Progress display: product pages show a teaser bubble, and signed-in customers see their current order count.
- Online and POS streaks: each Order Booster program can count online orders, POS orders or both.
- Refund rules: a fully refunded order drops out of streak progress, while a partial refund keeps the count.
- Bonus points campaigns: limited-time bonus campaigns start on Basic at $29 a month.
- VIP and B2B tiers: both start on Growth, alongside points on product pages and custom CSS.
Where it shines
- Growth has no order cap, so the price stays at $129.
- Streak bonuses pay out on completed orders only.
- One of two apps merchants switched to most often in the Magicbean study.
Trade-offs
- Order Booster and VIP tiers start on Growth at $129 a month.
- API access and the SDK need the custom-priced Plus plan.
- BON has no luck-based games such as spins or contests.
Plans and prices: Starter $15 (300 orders), Basic $29 (500 orders), Growth $129 (unlimited orders) and Plus at a custom price, monthly.
Our take: BON ranks fourth because Order Booster is the only streak here built on consecutive orders, and Growth’s flat $129 costs less at 5,000 orders than Joy, Love Loyalty, Kangaroo or Toki at that volume. Our BON Loyalty review covers the lower plans.
5. Kangaroo
Best for: Contests across online and in-store
Rating: 4.9 (57 reviews) | Price: $199/mo | Free trial: No
Kangaroo is an omnichannel loyalty platform with one Shopify plan. Its game mechanic is a contest module, and the same plan covers points, VIP tiers, offers, referrals, reviews and email and SMS marketing. It suits retailers who sell in physical stores as well as online.
What you get
- Contest module: automated contests pick winners at random and notify them, according to Kangaroo’s gamification page.
- Points and VIP tiers: point and tier rewards are both included on the single plan.
- Offers and messaging: targeted offers and email and SMS marketing run inside the same app.
- Shopify POS and Lightspeed: staff can validate discounts and coupons at the POS, and Lightspeed stores can connect too.
- Referrals and reviews: referral and review modules come with the $199 plan.
Where it shines
- Every feature sits on one plan, so there are no plan gates.
- Contests work for in-store events as well as online campaigns.
- Phone support is included alongside chat and email.
Trade-offs
- The only plan costs $199 a month for 1,000 orders.
- Each order past 1,000 costs another $0.20.
- Kangaroo may bill some charges outside the Shopify invoice.
Plans and prices: Ultimate $199 a month for 1,000 orders, then $0.20 per order, which comes to $399 at 2,000 orders and $999 at 5,000.
Our take: Kangaroo fits retailers who want contests in-store, and it is one of the stronger options in our list of loyalty apps for Shopify POS. In the Magicbean study, 82.2% of Kangaroo’s 45 written reviews mention support, nearly 12 points above the category average.
6. Toki
Best for: Community-led programs
Rating: 4.9 (97 reviews) | Price: $49–$599/mo | Free trial: 14 days
Toki is a loyalty app that leans on community. VIP tiers and Shopify POS both work on its free plan. The $49 plan adds a loyalty community hub and wallet passes, and the listing names contests as a program type.
What you get
- Contests and events: contests are listed as a program type and events as a reward type.
- Loyalty community hub: the community hub starts on Pay as You Go at $49 a month.
- Advanced VIP tiers: VIP tiers are on every plan, including the free one.
- 50+ ways to earn: customers earn points, store credit or cashback across more than 50 actions.
- Wallet passes and memberships: Apple and Google Wallet passes and paid memberships also start at $49.
- Multi-store programs: one loyalty program can span several stores from the $49 plan.
Where it shines
- The only app here with VIP tiers on a free plan.
- Shopify POS works on every plan.
- A 14-day trial comes with each paid plan.
Trade-offs
- Every plan charges $0.15 per order above its included volume.
- Above 5,000 orders a month, Toki moves to custom Enterprise pricing.
- A dedicated success manager starts on Growth at $299 a month.
Plans and prices: Free (1,000 orders), Pay as You Go $49 (1,000 orders), Growth $299 (3,000 orders) and Power $599 (5,000 orders) a month, each plus $0.15 per extra order.
Our take: In the Magicbean study, 63.3% of Toki’s 49 written reviews mention rewards features, 2.3 times the category average. Past about 2,700 orders a month, Growth at $299 costs less than Pay as You Go with overage. See our Toki alternatives for similar apps.
7. Loyoly
Best for: Missions and UGC rewards
Rating: 5.0 (118 reviews) | Price: $99–$999/mo | Free trial: 7 days
Loyoly is a mission-led loyalty app. Customers earn points by completing missions such as newsletter opt-ins, Instagram posts and Google reviews. Badges sit among its reward types, and a free plan lets a store test missions before choosing a paid plan.
What you get
- 40+ missions: the free plan includes more than 40 verified actions customers can complete for points.
- Badges: badges are listed as a reward type alongside points.
- UGC and review points: points for UGC and reviews start on Premium at $449 a month.
- VIP tiers and referrals: Lite at $99 adds VIP tiers and referral sharing by link, email, SMS and WhatsApp.
- Automation flows: Premium includes 3 automation flows, and Enterprise includes 5.
- POS and wallet passes: Loyoly connects online and in-store loyalty through Shopify POS and Apple or Google Wallet.
Where it shines
- Missions reward social actions and content as well as purchases.
- 117 of its 118 reviews are five-star.
- Premium includes a page builder with custom CSS.
Trade-offs
- VIP tiers start on Lite at $99 a month.
- UGC and review missions need Premium at $449 a month.
- Lite caps integrations at 2.
- Enterprise adds $0.30 for each extra order.
Plans and prices: Free, Lite $99, Premium $449 and Enterprise $999 (plus $0.30 per extra order) a month.
Our take: Loyoly ranks seventh because its main game feature, UGC missions, sits on a $449 plan. Brands that want content from customers should still test the free plan’s missions first.
Also considered
- Flits: suits stores that want a loyalty layer inside customer accounts, and it runs a spin-the-wheel campaign there. Flits doesn’t publish which plan includes the spin, so we couldn’t price it (see our Flits alternatives).
- Smile: suits stores that want a familiar points program. Its only game-style feature is bonus points events from Standard at $79, and VIP tiers start on Growth at $199 (our Smile.io review has the detail).
- Growave: suits stores that want loyalty, reviews and wishlists in one app. Its boost campaigns are bonus points events, and they start on Growth at $199 a month.
- Nector: suits stores that want loyalty and reviews on one order-based bill. Nector calls its program gamified, but its loyalty page names no game mechanic beyond bonus coin campaigns, and VIP tiers need Premium at $349.
Bottom line
Gameball is the pick for a store that wants real games, and Joy is the best value for streaks and milestones.
Love Loyalty is the one to pick when you want VIP tiers and bonus campaigns inside a single app on its $79 Growth plan. Choose the kind of mechanic first, luck or progress, then price the plan that includes it at next year’s order volume. Before launch, install your pick on a development store and run one campaign end to end, including how rewards show up at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best gamified loyalty apps for Shopify?
Gameball, Joy and Love Loyalty are the strongest gamified loyalty apps for Shopify in 2026. Gameball has spins and streak campaigns. Joy has a visit-streak challenge on every plan and milestones from $129. Love Loyalty puts VIP tiers and bonus campaigns on its $79 Growth plan.
What is a gamified loyalty program?
A gamified loyalty program adds game mechanics such as streaks, spins, missions or tier progress on top of points. The goal is a reason to engage between purchases. On Shopify, apps like Gameball and BON Loyalty attach those mechanics to the same points balance customers already use at checkout.
Do all Shopify loyalty apps include game features?
No, many loyalty apps only run bonus points events. Smile and Growave both have bonus events but no spins or streaks. Gameball, Joy, BON Loyalty and Kangaroo are among the few that name a specific game mechanic, and each puts it on a different plan.
Does gamification increase repeat purchases or AOV?
Published merchant reviews don’t prove it either way. In the Magicbean review study, only 1.4% of written loyalty-app reviews described an actual business result for the merchant’s store. Purchase-based mechanics like BON Loyalty’s Order Booster at least tie rewards to completed orders, which makes their cost easier to measure. Our guide on why loyalty programs don’t convert covers what to check.
Is a spin-the-wheel pop-up the same as a gamified loyalty program?
No. A standalone spin-the-wheel app is just an email capture tool. It trades a one-time discount for an email address, but it doesn’t track purchase history or points. True gamified loyalty apps, like Gameball or Kangaroo, run spins and contests inside a logged-in member’s account. This connects the prize directly to their existing points balance and VIP tier to build long-term retention.
How do I test a gamified loyalty program before launching it?
Install the app on a development store and run one game campaign end to end. Check how the widget looks on your theme, whether rewards apply at checkout and at Shopify POS, and what happens to points after a refund. Then decide how many points each action earns, using our guide to points per dollar.
